San Antonio is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around San Antonio is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

For years I used to drive by the Alley and wondering what was actually going on with that place. When I finally stopped and checked it out, I was surprised to find a chocolate shop hiding back there. When you first walk in, you are greeted to a heavenly smell of chocolate. Everyone I have ever taken to Casa has the same reaction the first time they walk in -- instant smile and an exclamation of how amazing it smells. But that's just the beginning. They make the best chocolate I have ever tasted. Not sure which one you want? No problem, they have little sample wafers of all the chocolates to try before you buy. The owner/operators are incredibly nice people who seem to genuinely enjoy their craft and enjoy meeting their customers. I cannot say enough good things about the people and the business. As long as I call San Antonio home, I will continue to buy my chocolate here!

Ordered online and received great communication every step of the way. I received the chocolate and it was packaged perfectly with a personalized Thank You note inside! The flavor of the chocolate was so tasty. The Mexican Hot Chocolate and the Peru bars was my favorite but you really cannot go wrong with any choice!

Oh, where do I start with Casa Chocolates? My daughter and I walked in today, and let me tell you, the moment you step through the door, this incredible wave of rich, handcrafted chocolate aroma just wraps around youβitβs like a warm hug from cocoa heaven! The display is so inviting, with this neat setup of dark chocolates lined up on the top row and milk chocolates anchoring the bottom. And to the right, theyβve got these cocoa beans from all over the world showcased, which immediately tells you theyβre serious about their craft. We were greeted right away by Brian, who was just so friendly and welcoming. He asked if it was our first time, and when we said yes, you could tell he was excited to share their story. He walked us through their samples, and oh my goodness, each one was a little adventure. The Mexican hot chocolate one? That was our favorite, with these layered flavors and a gentle cayenne kick at the endβnot too spicy, just enough to make you smile and go, βWow, thatβs special.β The dark chocolate coffee one was another standout, so smooth and bold. Brian took the time to explain how they handcraft everything, and you can feel the passion they put into sourcing fair-t

Chocolate Heaven Found! Walked into Casa Chocolate and immediately got smacked in the face (in the best way) with the smell of fresh, dreamy chocolate. This isnβt your average candy shopβthese folks make their chocolate from scratch, starting with actual cacao beans. The owner gave us the sweetest little crash course on how itβs all made, then let us taste itβ¦ and wow. Smooth, rich, and totally addictive. Weβre already plotting our next visit. 10/10 recommend if you love chocolate and want to feel a little fancy while snacking!

This place is absolutely amazing. Not only do they have the best chocolate Iβve ever tasted but the owners are so friendly and patient with their explanations of how they make the chocolate bars. They took their time and explained how the process works and how even the slightest variations can alter the taste completely, such as roasting the cocoa beans a minute shorter or longer. Incredible experience. I highly recommend for any chocolate lovers. We will be back!
